Privacy Policy

SafeNY does not use cookies and does not track individual users. SafeNY does not sell your data to commercial data brokers or unrelated marketing networks.

We use Plausible Analytics for aggregate traffic analysis only. Plausible is a privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics service that complies with GDPR, CCPA, and PECR without requiring a consent banner. No personal information is collected. No persistent identifier is set in your browser. No data is shared with third-party advertisers.

Children's privacy

SafeNY is not directed at children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we may have inadvertently collected such information, please contact privacy@safeny.com for prompt deletion.

What we collect, in aggregate

Page views, anonymous referrer, country-level geography (derived from IP at request-time, IP not stored), device type, and the timing of our own page-event taxonomy (calculator used, callback requested, scroll depth). All of this is reported only as aggregate counts; individual sessions are not reconstructable.

Form submissions and voicemail

When you submit a lead form or leave a voicemail, the data you provide (contact details, case description, voicemail audio) is temporarily stored in our database and, upon your explicit authorization, securely routed exclusively to our participating independent legal directory advertisers and law firms for the sole purpose of evaluating whether your case qualifies for attorney consultation. We hash your IP address with a daily-rotating salt before storage; the raw IP is never persisted. You may request deletion of your submission by emailing privacy@safeny.com with your submission reference code, or by replying to the confirmation email you received at submission.

Form submissions are retained for 24 months from submission date, after which they are automatically deleted from our active database. Voicemail audio may be retained for a shorter period at our discretion. You may request earlier deletion at any time.

What we explicitly do not do

We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, advertising re-targeting cookies, fingerprinting scripts, or any other form of third-party tracking. We do not sell or lease your data to commercial data brokers or unrelated marketing networks. Data submitted via intake forms is transmitted exclusively to authorized participating legal directory networks in strict conformance with the routing authorizations provided at the time of submission.

California residents

California residents have the following rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA):

• Right to know what personal information we collect and how it is used
• Right to request deletion of your personal information
• Right to correct inaccurate information
• Right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information (SafeNY does not sell personal information)
• Right to non-discrimination for exercising these rights

To exercise these rights, email privacy@safeny.com with your request and any reference code provided at submission. We respond within 45 days as required by CCPA.

Updates

We may revise this policy. Material changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date below, and significant changes may be additionally surfaced via on-site notice for at least 30 days.
